Add equipment and choose how often it's checked
- Open Equipment (Settings → Equipment on mobile, or the Equipment page on the web).
- Add the unit — fridge, freezer or hot-holding — with its safe range (sensible defaults are pre-filled).
- Pick when it's checked: opening, midday, closing — any or all three.
ProCafe maintains the temperature checklists for you: each chosen time gets its own checklist with that unit in it. Change the times later and the checklists update themselves.
Record a reading
Today shows exactly which units still need a reading in each period. Tap the check, type the temperature on the keypad, and ProCafe tells you instantly whether it's in range.
When a reading is out of range
An out-of-range reading is saved and flagged — never lost. The card shows what failed in plain words with “Record what you did”: pick the action (moved stock, adjusted the unit, called a technician…) and it's kept with the record. That's the corrective-action trail health inspectors ask about.
Voiding a mistaken entry (managers)
Entries can't be edited or deleted — that's what makes the record credible. If something was logged by mistake, a manager opens the day's record, taps Void on the entry and writes a short note saying why.
- The original stays on the record and every export, struck through with the note.
- The check offers itself again on Today so the right reading gets taken.
- Every void is logged with who did it and when.
