New Zealand: before you start
Build your routines around the food control plan or national programme that applies to your New Zealand business. For cafes using MPI's Simply Safe & Suitable template, the selected cards and your registered activities determine the work. Keep the completed checks and supporting methods ready for your verifier.
- Assign the selected plan cards and practical methods that match each person's duties. Keep evidence that staff understand what they must do and when to ask for help.
- Record instruction on new equipment, changed recipes and corrective actions alongside the relevant method. Reading a document alone is not proof of practical competence.
- Prepare the current methods and training evidence for verification. Preserve earlier versions when reviewing what instructions applied at the time of a recorded event.
Share and track
- Upload a document (an SOP, a policy, training material) on the web.
- The team sees it on their phones and acknowledges it after reading.
- Managers see the completion list — who has signed off and who hasn't.
New versions restart the sign-off, so nobody is acknowledged against an old copy. Acknowledgement is an internal record of sign-off, not a legal signature.
