New Zealand: before you start

Build your routines around the food control plan or national programme that applies to your New Zealand business. For cafes using MPI's Simply Safe & Suitable template, the selected cards and your registered activities determine the work. Keep the completed checks and supporting methods ready for your verifier.

  1. Review the cards selected for your registered activities before configuring opening and closing lists. Include the practical hygiene, cleaning and storage checks your own plan calls for.
  2. Capture delivery and food-process observations when those activities happen. A daily completion status does not replace the record for an individual cooking, cooling or reheating process.
  3. Review missed checks and what happened when something went wrong. Keep the action and supporting evidence accessible for the verifier, including changes made after the last verification.

Set up your New Zealand site

  1. Choose New Zealand and the site's region. Check Pacific/Auckland, or Pacific/Chatham for the Chatham Islands, and Celsius.
  2. Choose the activities your kitchen actually undertakes and review the NZ starter checks before scheduling them.
  3. Use MPI My Food Rules to confirm your plan or programme. Keep your registered plan, registration reference and verifier details with the site's documents.
  4. Review the New Zealand guidance packs, add training evidence and invite staff to complete their assigned checks.

Create your account

  1. Go to the sign-up page and enter your organisation name, email and a password.
  2. Open the verification email and confirm your address.
  3. Sign in — you're now the owner of your organisation.
New sign-ups start on a 14-day free trial — no card required.

Run guided setup

Owners and managers can open Quick start directly below or from the top of Setup. It guides you through a location, equipment and a starter routine. If you already added a location without checks, you can continue its setup.

  1. Add your location, or continue the location you already created.
  2. Choose the starter routine that fits your business, then review the equipment, limits and times for your actual operation.
  3. Finish setup and record a real measurement for the equipment you added, or open Today for the available checks. Example data does not count as a saved business record.

Save and find your first real check

Daily checks appear on Today. Record the actual result on the web or mobile app, add any required corrective action and check that the record is saved. You can find completed work in Records and use Reports for exports.

Invite your team when you're ready

Invite managers, supervisors and staff by email. Each person sets their own password when they accept. You can record your own first check before inviting anyone else.
