New Zealand: before you start

Build your routines around the food control plan or national programme that applies to your New Zealand business. For cafes using MPI's Simply Safe & Suitable template, the selected cards and your registered activities determine the work. Keep the completed checks and supporting methods ready for your verifier.

  1. Confirm whether the business uses a template or custom food control plan, or a national programme. The app's NZ starter content does not register the business with MPI or the council.
  2. For Simply Safe & Suitable, review the selected cards against the menu and service activities. Add the site's people, equipment, suppliers and actual safe methods.
  3. Prepare records and supporting methods for verification, including actions from previous visits. Revisit the plan when activities change rather than assuming registration covers every new process.

The inspection report, one tap

When an inspector is at the counter: on mobile, open Records → Inspection report; on the web, use the Readiness page. Pick the period — the last 90 days is what inspectors usually ask for — and create the PDF.

  • It's built from your live records: checks, temperatures, out-of-range events and what was done, equipment and limits.
  • Share it by email or AirDrop, print it, or hand the phone over.
  • Owners and managers can create it; the PDF states the site, period and when it was made.

Record exports

Any date range exports as PDF, CSV or Excel from the records and calendar views. Voided entries stay in every export, marked with the manager's note — nothing is hidden.

Readiness

The readiness view surfaces gaps from your own records — missed checks, open corrective actions — so you can close them before an inspection. It reflects your records; it does not approve you or guarantee compliance.
