Act on a food recall

Find affected records, isolate stock and document the response.

Last updated September 12, 2026

  1. Confirm the alert, food, supplier, lot codes and scope using the authority or supplier's information.
  2. Find matching deliveries, ingredient links and products. Search results depend on the records the business entered.
  3. Stop using or selling affected food and isolate it. Record quantities, locations, disposal or return, and responsible people.
  4. Make the required supplier, authority or customer communications. Retain evidence, verify the outcome and document preventive actions.

Recording a recall in the app does not notify CFIA, a health authority or customers. Follow the actual alert and the business's recall responsibilities.
